罗伯特·弗罗斯特诗歌里的时代精神探析研究

摘要：罗伯特·弗罗斯特是二十世纪美国的一位伟大诗人，是美国文学史上获得四次普利策奖的第一人。弗罗斯特因他的自然诗而著称于世，他诗歌里简而易懂的语言往往蕴含了深层的含义。弗罗斯特的诗歌主要取材于新英格兰，写新英格兰的人和事，描新英格兰的景和物，但他绝不仅仅是绝大多数读者所认为的一位只会写景写物的普通自然诗人。弗罗斯特一生经历了两次世界大战，也遭受了经济大萧条带来的苦难，所以他的诗歌也不可避免地受到了时代的影响而富有很明显的时代内涵。弗罗斯特以自然为象征，通过描写大自然的黑暗来揭示当时社会混乱无序的黑暗之状，通过描写大自然对人类的冷酷无情来揭示当时人们在社会所处的无助、孤寂之悲境。本文通过对弗罗斯特一些相关诗歌的详细分析来探析弗罗斯特诗歌里的时代内涵。

The Spirit of Time in Robert Frost’s Poetry

Abstract: Robert Frost, four-time winners of the Pulitzer Prize, was one of the greatest poets in the 20^th century American literature. He is famous for his nature poems, which is characterized by its simple language, graceful conception and profound meaning. He mainly wrote of the character, people, and landscape of New England. Frost’s long life span witnessed two World Wars and the Great Depression. So living in a period of dramatic social changes, Frost was inevitably influenced by the time he lived in. Through the description of the alienation and the darkness of nature, Frost explores modern man’s loneliness, frustration, isolation and lack of understanding and communication against the dark chaotic modern society, which reveals the spirit of the time he lived in. Then the spirit of time in his poetry will be interpreted through the analysis of some relevant poems.
